El mismo equipo, compuesto por 9 profesionales distribuidos en Chile, Perú y Colombia, lleva trabajando junto desde 2011 en Celfin Capital (posteriormente BTG Pactual) sin cambios ni rotación.

Gastón Angelico

Mr. Angelico is a Founding Partner of Excel Capital. He was former Co-Head of Institutional Distribution at BTG Pactual Chile. He joined BTG Pactual in 2009. In 2011 he became Managing Director co-leading the distribution business in the Andean Region, becoming Associate Partner of the company by 2013.  Prior to that, Mr. Angelico held Vice President and Associate positions in Investment Banking at Celfin Capital and Merrill Lynch & Co (New York) , participating in various M&A, equity and debt transactions  in New York, Chile and Peru.

Mr. Angelico was Member of BTG Pactual Asset Management Chile Board of Directors between 2011 and 2015.

Mr. Angelico holds a B.S in Business Administration from Universidad Diego Portales de Chile and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Felipe Monardez

Mr. Monardez is a Founding Partner of Excel Capital.  He was former Co-Head of Institutional Distribution at BTG Pactual Chile. He joined BTG Pactual in 2011 as Managing Director, co-leading the distribution business in the Andean Region, and in 2013 he was named Associate Partner of the company.  Previously, Mr. Monardez was CEO of Fortis Investment, setting up the Rep Office in Chile and covering institutional clients in the Andean region (Chile, Peru, Bolivia & Ecuador). After Fortis bank’s bankruptcy, he became CEO of BNP Paribas AM Chile and had to rebuild the business, reaching US$2.5 billion in 3 years.

Mr. Monardez was Member of BTG Pactual Asset Management Chile Board of Directors between 2011 and 2015.

Mr. Monardez holds a B.S in Business Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Rodrigo Nader

Mr. Nader is a Partner of Excel Capital. Rodrigo is former CEO of BTG Pactual Chile Asset Management (then Celfin Capital Asset Management), joining the firm in July 2012. He had previously worked at Celfin as head of global fixed income (2008 to 2010). Prior to his return to Celfin, he was CIO of AFP Capital, the third largest AFP in Chile managing USD33 bn in assets. Previously, Mr. Nader held positions as Vice President of sales and structuring at Deutsche Bank Chile,  Head of AFP Habitat´s $7bn fixed income portfolio, and as Associate at Salomon Smith Barney´s investment banking division (New York) participating in several debt, equity and M&A transactions

Mr. Nader earned an MBA from Columbia University in New York and B.A. in Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

 

José Piaggio

José Piaggio is a Founding Partner of Excel Capital.  He was former Head of Institutional Sales at BTG Pactual Peru. He covered the Pension Fund industry along with Insurance Companies and local Mutual Funds. Prior to joining BTG Pactual (Celfn Capital) he worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch doing Special Situations transactions in London. He also spent 7 years as a trader at ING Peru a Citibank Peru.

Mr. Piaggio holds an MBA from the London Business School and MSc in Economics from Universidad del Pacifico in Peru.

Carlos Martinez

José Tomás Ovalle

José Tomás Ovalle is Head of Chile Institutional Distribution at XLC. Previously, Mr. Ovalle was a Director at BTG Pactual Chile Institutional Distribution, heading sales of third-party mutual funds in Chile and SSGA ETFs across the Andean Region, since 2011. Prior to BTG Pactual, he held positions as export manager at Santa Rita Winery and Private Banker at Tanner Corredores de Bolsa. Mr. Ovalle has 10 years of experience in the distribution business.

Mr. Ovalle holds an MBA from Universidad Catolica de Chile and a B.S. in Business Administration from Universidad de Chile.

Alexis Ferrada

Alexis Ferrada is Director of Client Services at XLC Institutional Distribution. Previously, he was Associate Director of Institutional Distribution at BTG Pactual, joining the company in 2010. Before that, Mr. Ferrada worked for 1 year at Santiago Stock Exchange as an Analyst in the IT Department handling daily transactions and QA operations. Mr. Ferrada supervises all Client Services requirements related with Private Equity Funds, ETF, Mutual Funds, and all non-business functions including Operations, Market Intelligence, in-house Transaction Systems and IT Infrastructure. His role includes providing support to the commercial teams in Chile, Peru and Colombia.

Mr. Ferrada holds a M.S. in Finance from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez and a B.S. in Industrial Engineer from Universidad Teconologica Metropolitana.

José Tomás Raga

Mr. Raga is an Associate Director of Institutional Distribution at XLC. Previously, he was an Associate Director at BTG Pactual Chile Institutional Distribution, where he joined in 2011 covering sales of third-party mutual funds in Chile for Pension Funds and Family Offices. Prior to BTG Pactual, Mr. Raga worked in the Sustainability Development Team for Fundacion Chile focusing on carbon footprint projects. Mr. Raga has 5 years of experience in the asset management distribution business.

Mr. Raga holds a B.S. Industrial Engineering from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez.

Julio Valdés

Julio Valdés is Associate Director of Institutional Distribution at XLC. Previously, he worked at BTG Pactual since 2011 in a similar role and functions as currently in XLC. Before that, Mr. Valdes worked as an Analyst for EvalueserveChile in the Investment Research department, creating and maintaining data bases with financial information. At XLC; Mr. Valdés handles daily purchase/redemption operations, market intelligence and managers´ customized reporting. His role includes working closely with Mr. Alexis Ferrada, providing support to the commercial teams in Chile, Peru and Colombia.

Mr. Valdés holds a B.S in Industrial Engineer from Universidad La Frontera.
